Frequently Asked Questions
What is the goal of our fundraising?
We have set our goal at $200,000 as this was the minimum amount needed per the district informational meeting that would provide weekly in school instruction by certified art and music teachers. All funds raised will go directly to art and music programs and will be gifted to the district for that specific purpose.
How can we achieve this goal?
We can only do it as a community. Community donations will be the driving force. We have many fundraisers coming up and are bringing in corporate sponsors and small business donors. We also have a letter writing campaign for larger donations and grant applications.
Do I need to pay a membership?
We do not require annual membership. We are simply seeking donations which will go directly to provide an art and music program at all of the Valley Central Elementary Schools.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. We are working with a non-profit Wallkill River School. Since they already have a 501c3 the donations to ADAM will be tax deductible and you will receive a receipt in the mail for your records.
How will funds be allocated if goal is not met?
All funds are for art and music programs and will be gifted to the district only for that purpose. Our goal is to have certified teachers and that will remain our goal. But it would be irresponsible not to research options should we fall short of our goal and funds are limited. We will be working with the principals and school district to create as many options to maximize our funds as possible should that happen. We will be fundraising into the school year and the more funds collected, the more we can do with it. While it is our responsibility to discuss each and every option to serve as Plan B, we are working very hard toward our goal of art and music teachers teaching art and music once a week.
Will any of the funds be used for after school programs or "clubs"?
Our goal is to support art and music for all of the elementary students, therefore ADAM’s position is to support programs that take place during school hours. ADAM will not be financially supporting any after school clubs or activities. If parents want this sort of after school enrichment, and there are plenty of local options available, they are encouraged to investigate them for their own child(ren).
How do I donate?
